Summary

ACE #1
ACE #2

Criminal prodigy Kaz Brekker has been offered wealth beyond his wildest dreams。 But to claim it, he'll have to pull off a seemingly impossible heist:

Break into the notorious Ice Court
(a military stronghold that has never been breached)

Retrieve a hostage
(who could unleash magical havoc on the world)

Survive long enough to collect his reward
(and spend it)

Kaz needs a crew desperate enough to take on this suicide mission and dangerous enough to get the job done - and he knows exactly who: six of the deadliest outcasts the city has to offer。 Together, they just might be unstoppable - if they don't kill each other first。

OkAy, eVeRyOne。 This book was literally so good。 I threw it into a wall in the last scenes because it was just immaculate。 I love this book because it's dark and real, but also classy, mysterious, and has a big fantasy/dystopian element to it。 No one ever talks about the mystery part of it。 From the beginning blurb of the books to the last pages it is action-packed, deep, but also contains elements of needing to know more。 I really loved how there were some breathing moments in it。 It is a littl OkAy, eVeRyOne。 This book was literally so good。 I threw it into a wall in the last scenes because it was just immaculate。 I love this book because it's dark and real, but also classy, mysterious, and has a big fantasy/dystopian element to it。 No one ever talks about the mystery part of it。 From the beginning blurb of the books to the last pages it is action-packed, deep, but also contains elements of needing to know more。 I really loved how there were some breathing moments in it。 It is a little slow to start so I would definitely recommend reading the Grisha trilogy beforehand and even if you have to keep trying to push through part 1 (chapters 1-6)。 Honestly, this book was way better than I expected it to be! I would rate this star 4。5/5 if possible! I always try to keep my reviews spoiler-free so sorry if this is confusing 。。。more

The heist theme was nice but not my type of read。 Characters were well developed and it's always nice to see realistic romances and relationships in YA fiction, where couples don't immediately get together。 The dialogue felt overly dramatic at times - yes, it is a novel where characters' lives were at stake but dramatic language is not necessarily needed to show this。 I think I personally overhyped this book for myself, additionally I also think that I am partially biased as the original Shadow The heist theme was nice but not my type of read。 Characters were well developed and it's always nice to see realistic romances and relationships in YA fiction, where couples don't immediately get together。 The dialogue felt overly dramatic at times - yes, it is a novel where characters' lives were at stake but dramatic language is not necessarily needed to show this。 I think I personally overhyped this book for myself, additionally I also think that I am partially biased as the original Shadow and Bone trilogy will forever be one of my favourite series。 。。。more

Bardugo leveled up!!!Chosen One books are tired。 Impossible Heist books are in。 Books where Chosen Ones and Impossible Heists can live in the same world? Even better。 It's Peaky Blinders meets Tolstoy meets Oceans 11, if you can believe it。 It's hard to describe how refreshing Six of Crows was after the Shadow and Bone trilogy。 S&B created a unique world that was worth exploring, and SoC created a truly character-driven story。 Unfortunately I am aware of the ugliest spoiler for the next book and Bardugo leveled up!!!Chosen One books are tired。 Impossible Heist books are in。 Books where Chosen Ones and Impossible Heists can live in the same world? I liked this book a lot more than the Shadow and Bone trilogy。 The world building was more complex, the characters were more 3D, the descriptions more intricate。 My favorite part of this was the banter, all the sarcasm and snark。 This book was dark and I loved it。 There was no pretending to be the good guys, or grappling with moral ambiguity or saving the world。

okay I have to make a review。This book is INCREDIBLE。 like I have no words。 I finished SOC and immediately picked up the crooked Kingdom。 In all honesty, I didn't like shadow and bone- I never DNF series due to my stubbornness but I never read the second and third books。 But Six of Crows is on a whole other level。 Leigh Bardugo one upped herself。 this is insane。 I have no words。 I am broken。 Even if you didn't like Shadow and Bone, you have to read this。 You can read this without reading Shadow okay I have to make a review。This book is INCREDIBLE。 like I have no words。 I finished SOC and immediately picked up the crooked Kingdom。 In all honesty, I didn't like shadow and bone- I never DNF series due to my stubbornness but I never read the second and third books。 But Six of Crows is on a whole other level。 Leigh Bardugo one upped herself。 this is insane。 I have no words。 I am broken。 Even if you didn't like Shadow and Bone, you have to read this。 You can read this without reading Shadow and Bone honestly, there's barely any spoilers。 Kaz, Inej, Matthias, Jesper, Wylan, and Nina are the best group of- well, I wouldn't say friends but they're definitely a weird dysfunctional family。 In my opinion, if you liked the inner Circle, you will LOVE these guys。 The writing is superior, the world building is so smart, the character development is flawlessly sewn in within the high-stakes plot。 Even the pacing was amazing。 I can't believe I waited years to read this。 The hype is definitely worth it- it's made me a thousand times more excited for the show。 I am a reader who values character dynamics and development over plot (of course I need a good plot) but I was shocked by how much of these aspects where in this book。 I expected a story solely driven by plot but boy was I wrong。 This book flawlessly combines both!I have been spoiled for some of Crooked Kingdom from tiktok but I know it will still keep me on the edge of my seat。 I am buzzed。 In summary-this book blew my mind。 。。。more

“No mourners。 No funerals。”AH! The plot, storyline, characters, world building, violence, adventure, etc。 was all so good! How can you not fall for the tough guy who only has a soft spot for his girl?I loved the concept of this book! It reminds me of the movie Oceans 11, as both stories include an impossible heist that involves people with a variety of talents。 Kaz’s whole plan was crazy and I loved seeing it unfold while reading Six of Crows!Lastly, let’s talk about that ending。 Dang! This whole book is full of plot twists, but the ending was a huge shock to me! Anyone who double crosses Brekker is a FOOL。 Good luck Van Eck! 。。。more

So it took me a long time to get through this BUT that was not due to the quality of the story。 Besides just being busy, it did take me a while to kind of understand some of the elements behind the fantasy world。 While not necessary, it would have been helpful for my speed of reading to read the Shadow and Bone Trilogy first since they are from the same universe。 However, once I was able to sit with this a little bit, I really loved the story and the relationships between the six characters。 Man So it took me a long time to get through this BUT that was not due to the quality of the story。 Besides just being busy, it did take me a while to kind of understand some of the elements behind the fantasy world。 While not necessary, it would have been helpful for my speed of reading to read the Shadow and Bone Trilogy first since they are from the same universe。 However, once I was able to sit with this a little bit, I really loved the story and the relationships between the six characters。 Many parts kept me guessing and turning the pages。 I will continue with the duology when I can devote a little more focus to it。 。。。more

4。5 stars。 I think it is really well done and I loved the story。 A story about the bad guys and I love all of them。 You know a job is well done when you like a murderer who just kills because somebody said something nasty。 It's a fresh breath of air in the genre。 I recommend reading it if you're looking for something new!I loved that there is a bunch of characters that you see the perspective from and it never bothered me。 That is quite something。 You just continu with the story, not changing ro 4。5 stars。 I think it is really well done and I loved the story。 A story about the bad guys and I love all of them。 You know a job is well done when you like a murderer who just kills because somebody said something nasty。 It's a fresh breath of air in the genre。 I recommend reading it if you're looking for something new!I loved that there is a bunch of characters that you see the perspective from and it never bothered me。 That is quite something。 You just continu with the story, not changing rooms or scenes, just a different view on the same scene。 Never stopping or slowing the pace。 Truely well done。 I was curious about the backstory of the characters and we slowly learn about it。 Some flashbacks are used, but never are they dull or annoying。 They really add to the story。 It feels like a character driven story。 The story is not complicated at all, but it is rich and full and just good。 Sorry for the vague review, but I didn't have time to write a proper one haha。 Just believe me it was a good read XP 。。。more

This book is an absolute masterpiece, from the way the book is written to the way all the characters developed is astounding。 I loved how each chapter focused on a specific character and how each of the character held equal importance。 Even the way the author revealed their backstories was brilliant。

*but strong four stars! The characters are amazing and well-written。 One of the best I've seen in books。 Leigh Bardugo's writing is so good here。 You can tell how much more experienced she is than during Shadow and Bone。 Overall a great story! The reason it is closer to four stars is, my personal preference: While I enjoyed the story, the whole heist-storyline was just not for me。 I liked the mob vibes, plot, from the first quarter but as soon as the heist was taking place, I lost interest。 Heist *but strong four stars! The characters are amazing and well-written。 One of the best I've seen in books。 Leigh Bardugo's writing is so good here。 You can tell how much more experienced she is than during Shadow and Bone。 Overall a great story! The reason it is closer to four stars is, my personal preference: While I enjoyed the story, the whole heist-storyline was just not for me。 I liked the mob vibes, plot, from the first quarter but as soon as the heist was taking place, I lost interest。 Heist stories are not my cup of tea。The characters are the best part for sure。 。。。more

After Shadow and Bone I was expecting more from Bardugo。 This novel it's slow and the plot predictive。 I finished only because I cannot leave unfinished books and most probably I will continue with Crooked Kingdom, but I will leave it for later。 After these two, I don't want to read anything else from this author。 This book was boring and I couldn't wait to finish to move to another book。 After Shadow and Bone I was expecting more from Bardugo。 This novel it's slow and the plot predictive。 I finished only because I cannot leave unfinished books and most probably I will continue with Crooked Kingdom, but I will leave it for later。 After these two, I don't want to read anything else from this author。 This book was boring and I couldn't wait to finish to move to another book。 。。。more

You know that feeling when you yell at the one in the horror movie "don't go in there" or "don't go alone"? This book made me feel quite the opposite。 Every action and every thing that happens is perfectly planned by our demon, Kaz Bekker and one of my favorite characters from all the books I have read。I have to say that, with the hype that the books of this bilogy had, there was some fear on my part to start them, but once I started reading, I couldn't stop。 Since the first book of the Grisha trilogy I have thought that the Grishaverse is a unique world and that Leigh did an excellent job in every detail of it, I do not see where the fantasy escapes every time I am reading it and Six of Crows has not been the exception。The characters are ANOTHER LEVEL, each one developed perfectly with their past and their future wishes about what they will do once the "mission" of the book is finished and they receive their reward。 This book exceeded my expectations, the narration is perfect, and it has multiple points of view, which means that there is not a doubt about the position of each character in the face of the conflicts that occur in the book。What could you say about the characters? Pf, thousands of things。 Kaz is my infinity favorite, every time he appears is absolutely exciting and intriguing。 Inej follows, who I think is a character with great strength and courage。 Then there's Jesper, who is original, sparkling, and fun。 Nina is seductive, but soft, at the same time I think she is one of the characters with the most guts。 Matthias and Wylan have not quite enchanted me yet, but I think they are coming strong in this second installment。The book is exciting from beginning to end, there was no slow chapter, all the time there was something to do and all the characters and the plan were in motion, that made it very dynamic and quick to read, it is pure fire。 The MAGIC of this book made me enjoy it from beginning to end。 A marvel。PS: Among all the things that Kaz stole, he also stole my heart 。。。more
